The BCWLE Board of Directors envisioned a logo that would signify an association that exists to support and uplift women in law enforcement through networking, training and mentorship. All elements of the logo were chosen with this intention.
The use of green and blue represents British Columbia’s natural landscape; its mountains, forests, and the ocean. The Pacific dogwood, BC’s official floral emblem, is included to reflect that BCWLE exists for law enforcement province-wide.
The hand demonstrates the intention of holding one another up, and of providing support and encouragement to fellow BCWLE members through shared experiences.
Whether she is striving for new opportunities or leading in place, she has the confidence and strength of her fellow BCWLE members raising her up.
The female figure embodies a woman striving. Whether she is striving for new opportunities or leading in place, she has the confidence and strength of her fellow BCWLE members raising her up. One member described the image as “a woman reaching for the stars”.
BCWLE is grateful for the support of PBX Logistics, a local trucking company, who sponsored the cost of the logo creation. “The trucking industry is also a male-dominated profession. We at PBX support BCWLE’s efforts to support gender equality in law enforcement.” Jason Dyck, President of PBX Logistics.
