Are you interested in joining the BCWLE Board of Directors and helping to build on the success already established?

The mission of BCWLE is – To unite law enforcement personnel across British Columbia, to create opportunities for everyone to meet and discuss topical issues affecting women in policing, to provide training for issues specifically related to women, and to facilitate networking and mentoring opportunities.”

In a short time BCWLE has grown to 450 members province wide and is comprised of employees from various law enforcement agencies and affiliates, various ranks and roles, and is gender inclusive. In the last year, with tireless effort, the BCWLE Board formed the technical framework for the organization, applied for and received funding, built a website, created a mechanism for memberships, forged partnerships, developed a social media following, hosted virtual meetings and webinars, and launched the Cross-Canada “Wisdom Web” in collaboration with partner agencies.  Yet, there is much work to be done.

Participating in the BCWLE Board requires much time and effort, a commitment to regular attendance at Board meetings and events, a willingness to work in a motivated and energetic team, and strong problem solving skills as we continue to experience “firsts”.  The term for Board members is two years.
