Throughout the year, BCWLE will be posting a series of exclusive interviews conducted with remarkable women in the field of law enforcement. These interviews celebrate the diversity of women in policing focusing on what is important to them on a personal or professional level. The topics of discussion are open and limitless, providing us an opportunity to get to know these women on a more intimate level. The first of these series focus on Trailblazing Women who paved the way for women to fulfill their dream of embarking on a career in law enforcement in Canada.
In October of this year, our director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI), Lana Chui, interviewed Donna Morse and Karen Adams who were in the first RCMP female troop (Troop 17 in 1974). In these exclusive interviews, these two extraordinary women give invaluable career advice to women in law enforcement today. They also discuss their careers and their lives outside of policing. We thank Donna and Karen for their time and contribution to our feature.
BCWLE is continuously seeking people to interview for this section. If you have a story to share pertaining to EDI or would just like to introduce yourself to the rest of the Membership, please email edi@bcwle.ca for more information.
