Jan started her policing career with the RCMP in 2000 and quickly embraced life on Vancouver Island. In 2007, she joined the Victoria Police Department.
Her diverse experience spans operations and investigations, including nearly a decade as a Detective Sergeant in the Special Victims Unit. She is currently a Public Order Commander and Officer in Charge of the Greater Victoria Public Safety Unit.
Jan is the Inspector of the Community Services Division, where she manages vital programs such as mental health response teams and community outreach.
When not in uniform, Jan enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two children, and their dog, embracing the Island lifestyle.
As a founding member of the VIAWP, Jan is honored to continue her legacy of advocacy through the BCWLE, dedicated to cultivating a future where women in law enforcement can lead with confidence and purpose.
