Judy first met a police officer in grade 4 when a female constable visited her class to give a presentation.  The first computer programmer she knew was her aunt – a mainframe operator.  So from the start, she knew that policing and computer science were amazing careers for women.  Judy was excited to combine computer science and law enforcement when she joined Vancouver Police Department as a civilian in 2015.   She has been a software developer for sixteen years previously working for Canadian financials.  At VPD, she has done what she loves best which is writing software in a team for projects such as VPD Online Crime Reporting.  She is currently a systems analyst in VPD’s Information & Communications Technology section where she designs and implements IT initiatives.
