Koreen first joined BC Sheriff Services in 1996 as an auxiliary at the New Westminster Law Courts. In 2009, after ten years as a regular Deputy in New Westminster, she accepted a lateral transfer to the Vancouver Provincial Courts where she became involved in the implementation of video-conferencing at FRCC and ACCW and later accepted a temporary appointment as Sergeant of video-conferencing at the North Fraser Pretrial. In 2012 Koreen became a full-time Sergeant in Port Coquitlam, and became heavily involved with the Office of Professional Standards Recruitment Center during 2012-2014. In 2014 she was promoted to the position of Staff Sergeant at the Sheriff Provincial Operations Center, where she managed the Central Float Pool. In 2016 she became Inspector of Training and Recruitment at the Office of Professional Standards (OPS) and then acted as the Superintendent for the OPS from January to October 2019. In October 2019, Koreen joined the New Westminster Law Courts as the Senior Inspector. From May to October 2020, Koreen acted as the Superintendent for the Fraser Region. In October 2020, Koreen was promoted to the Fraser Region Superintendent. Koreen is the BCSS executive-lead for the non-profit peer support society for LGBTQ2S+ “Out on Patrol”. When away from work Koreen enjoys spending time with family, hiking, kayaking, and playing slo-pitch.
